There are 16 chapters and 58 pages filled with stories about tea as seen by norm.

Hello, this is norm.

We are working to introduce a variety of teas made in Japan.

With the hope that brewing and enjoying tea will become a daily activity again,

Normal, everyday, normal.

As someone who works in tea, what do you think about the Japanese tea boom? Or, will tea be the next after the third wave (in coffee and cafe culture)? I sometimes get asked questions like that. It is difficult to answer this question because I feel that tea is far more profound and difficult to grasp than one might imagine, and that it is not a phenomenon that can be fully defined or explained within the terms defined by capitalist society. Although changes that appear to be in decline are occurring in this age-old tradition, in reality, we and tea continue to coexist, flowing with the times while constantly making small changes. I have a friend who says, ``History never betrays me.'' In his words, there is a sense of security in things that have been so taken for granted for so long. Things that exist so naturally have a reason for their existence.

An incredible amount of tea has been produced around the world since ancient times, and Japan is one of the producing regions. norm introduces tea from this region, tea that is within our reach, and tea made in Japan.

In the Japanese tea market, there are teas with perfect scores and teas with extra marks. Good and bad can be determined based on established standards. From a commercial perspective, it is necessary to establish standards. However, on the other hand, the freedom to step out of the box is taken away. I know that there are many attractive teas that are called bangai. I also know people who take pride in making that tea. That's why I find it questionable that tea is being treated with such low praise. Putting aside the question of which teas are better or worse, if you can find a tea you like, it will definitely make your life more enjoyable. In this book, what exactly is tea? From this story, we will talk about our favorite teas, the people who make them, and the places where they are made. It spells out wide, shallow, light, and bright. Socrates said that ignorance is sin and knowledge is emptiness. Let's learn about tea and have tea together!
